At a pivotal point in my medical career, I felt a profound need to change my clinical practice and perspective on medicine. A frustrating case, where comprehensive tests failed to provide a clear diagnosis, left me feeling helpless. As I encountered more patients with chronic, complex symptoms that traditional medicine couldn’t address, I recognized the limitations of conventional approaches.
About seven years ago, I discovered functional medicine, which focuses on identifying root causes and viewing patients as whole individuals. This paradigm shift resonated with my desire to practice a more holistic approach to health.
Transitioning to functional medicine came with doubts and challenges, including concerns about my professional reputation and the skepticism of colleagues. However, my curiosity and conviction only deepened. Influenced by mentors like Dr. Dan Kalish and Dr. Nasha Winters, I completed intensive training programs that reshaped my understanding of healing. I learned to prioritize optimizing the body’s internal environment over merely targeting diseases.
